This commercial plant was built using truly Malaysian home-grown technology. The technology was developed by MPOB and all the equipment for the commercial plants was fabricated locally. The detailed engineering and construction of the plants was implemented by Malaysian engineering firms. CAROTINO was chosen as the first partner to commercialize this strategic project because CAROTINO had successfully commercialized many MPOB technologies dating back 12 years from the commercialization of Red Palm Oil. In 2002 CAROTINO was also the first company to come forward to commercialize the first Pilot Palm Biodiesel Plant. This has therefore established an excellent track record and given CAROTINO a head start in understanding the nuances of this technology as well as marketing and logistics of Palm Biodiesel.
