Carotino is the 1st company in Malaysia that has successfully commercialized the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) technology for the production of Biodiesel from palm oil. This was done through a technology transfer agreement signed with MPOB in the year 2000.

Carotino commercialized the 1st integrated plant to produce a molecular distilled Biodiesel as a by-product of its neutraceutical extraction process in the year 2002. Since then, Carotino has been successfully marketing Biodiesel to several countries in Europe and Asia. This head start in production and marketing of Biodiesel has helped Carotino build an excellent infrastructure in terms of technology, quality control and logistics. Our strategic location near the well-established Pasir Gudang port in Johor, Malaysia, is a distinct advantage.

Another major strength is the fact that we are a vertically integrated company that has got access to a large resource of Crude Palm Oil (CPO), produced from our own CPO mills and plantations. Our quality system in manufacturing Biodiesel conforms to HACCP & ISO9001:2000 standards.

Based on this success of R & D commercialization of MPOB technology for Biodiesel, Carotino has been selected as the 1st company in Malaysia to set up the 1st large scale Biodiesel plant. This plant would be in operation by the 3rd quarter of 2006. over the years that we have been marketing Biodiesel derived from Palm Oil, we have met stringent global specifications like EN14214 and ASTM6751.
